Happy birthday Finland! Today, 6.12.2016 we celebrate for the 100th time our nations birthday to be precise, as the very first one also is counted in. 99 full years of independence – a great country to be born in – I would say we are VERY PRIVILIDGED to live in a country as Finland. Clean nature and wide wilderness are great things that first comes into the mind of a wildlife photographer. I myself celebrate it with song and culture, an ode to our nature. These images show some of our beauty in this very dark season of the year. The mighty eagles are more of a lucky coincidence – taken from a very long distance with 800mm tele and cropped heavily – although you can feel the power in the situation; white-tailed eagles feasting over a canada goose.
